I am seeking the parents and grandparents of a William WHEATON/WHEADON. He was born (1774-1800) in Connecticut or Westchester Co., NY. according to the census records (the concensus is Conn). He was living in Mt. Pleasant Town, Westchester Co., NY for the 1800 census and Yorktown, Westchester Co., NY for the 1810 census. For the early censuses (1790-1800) for CT. there were WHEATON families living primarily in either Windham or New Haven Co., CT. I am hoping that he was b. in one of those counties in CT. He married an Orpha BROOKS abt. 1802. She was b. ca. 1784 in CT. He lived in Beekman, Dutchess Co., NY for the 1830 census and Neversink, Sullivan Co., NY for the 1830-1840 censuses. Their children names were Matilda, Miles, Rebecca, Bethenia, Jacob, Phebe, Henry, Silas, William, Reuben, and George. He died in Erin, Chemung Co., NY in 1857. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much.
