Whedon Family - NY 1800's
I am looking for the parents of my G-Grandmother, Charlotte Naomi Whedon, b.c. 1830, supposedly, in Washington Co. NY. She had a younger brother named Warren. He is said to have died in New Orleans of Yellow Fever ca. 1850. A family history written by one of Charlotte N. Whedon's sons, states that she was an orphan and was raised by her uncle, the Rev. Eli Graves and his wife Naomi Whedon Graves.
In a letter written by Naomi Whedon Graves to her brother-in-law, Joel Graves, she says that on the way to the seminary in (western) NY,(I am sorry, but I can't recall the name of the town where Eli went to school and I don't have my info here with me)that she and Eli stopped to visit her uncle Benjamin Whedon in Camillus, NY. Do these names mean anything to anyone?
Charlotte Naomi Whedon married my G-Grandfather Samuel Lewis Moore in 1845 in Boston, Thomas Co. Ga. in the Boston Presbyterian Church where the Rev. Eli Graves was the supply minister.
I have been looking for these ancestors for quite a long time with no luck. I would appreciate any leads.
Ruth
