renee, my is virgil akers, I live in logan co. wv. my mother was a wheatley born to oliver wheatley in 1909. oliver was the son of william beaugard wheatley. his father was william wheatley from wise co, va.he was married to caroline short, the daughter of john short from sullivan co. tn.william beaugard was born august 4, 1861 in wise co. va.william sr. we belive was killed in the civil war in the battle of gettysburg.mom had abrother named virgil eldridge wheatley. I am named after him. he died jan 5th, 1999 at the age of 92, he was a fine uncle as well as a man. did well in life.you could go to the wise co. court house and check dates begining about 1825 and up., also scott co. court house. I have a good friend that lives in wise, I go down and visit sometimes, his name is freddie elkins, you may know him. a good man.
