              Third Generation

       4       George W. Whealton. Born 10 Oct 1838. Died 11 Aug 1895. Buried in Bay Creek Christian Church, Mesic, NC. Occupation Mail Carrier; Justice Of The Peace; farmer.

       5       Matilda Potter. Born 1839 in Beauford Co.,NC.

              Fourth Generation

       8       Levin E Whealton. Born 1811 in Bay Creek (Mesic). Died 2 Sep 1881.

              At age 21, Leven bought land from Cloey Dowdy for $50 21May1832-land left by father in will

       9       Delila A. Carter. Born 1812. Died 8 Apr 1889.

              Fifth Generation

       16       Leven Whealton. Born 1784/1790. Died Before Nov 1813.

       17       Mary Chloe Dowdy. Born 1785/1795. Died After 1839.

              inherited 50 acres between Wm Jones and Jos Brothers and 1 feather bed

       18       .

              Sixth Generation

       32       Levin D. Whealton. Born 1750/1753. Died 1801. Occupation Shoemaker. Listed on census 1769 in Craven Co.,NC.

       34       James Dowdy. Died After 11 Mar 1816.

              1790 Beaufort Co Census listed 1 male over 16 and one female

According to family tradition the Whealtons were from the Eastern Shore of Virginia, possibly Chincoteague, VA. However, we have not been able to prove the connection.
