Kara I am also trying to find info on Nelson Wharton b 1786 Va. I have him on the 1850 Ohio Co VA/WV census with his wife Elizabeth and their 10 children.
Nelson was still living in Ohio Co in 1860 but Elizabeth has apparently passed away.
My gr gr grandfather John Wharton b. @1821 and his wife Elizabeth Clatterbuck b @ 1823 went to Ohio Co about the same time as Nelson and his family did. They married in Va in 1845.
I'm trying to figure out if my John Wharton is the oldest son of Nelson. I may never figure it out but I'll keep trying.
How are you connected to Nelson and Elizabeth Wharton?
I was born in Ohio Co. WV and spent my first 15 years there.
