The history of the Regecide & his sister Jane can be documented, but I have seen no documentation that Jane Whalley married William Hooke. In fact the only Wm Hooke that seems to be documentable in the Boston area at this time is Wm Hooke, son of Humphrey Hook & Cicely Young. That Wm Hooke married Eleanor Knight, widow of Mr. Norton, & they had Humphrey, William, Susannah, & Jacob.I have replaced Jane Whalley as Susannah's mother with Eleanor Knight, the documented wife of Wm Hooke in History of Marblehead & in The Pioneers of Massachusetts.I have not seen anything that documents Susannah Hooke as the daughter of Jane Whalley, or the marriage of Jane to Wm Hooke. If you come across any reputable, documentable source, please let me know. I do see that this Wm Hooke married to Eleanor Knight did return to England for special favors of Oliver Cromwell, so there may be some connection, but just can't find anything to document this LDS page claim that Susannah Hooke was the dau of Jane Whalley.Of Mr. Hooke, considered one of the founders of Taunton, and Mr. Street, a full account may be found in The Taunton Ministry, vol. i. "Mr. Hooke was their first pastor, and after seven years became pastor in New Haven, and afterwards returned to England, where he experienced the special favour of Cromwell. Mr. Street succeeded Mr. Hooke at Taunton, and also at New Haven. Dr. Bacon speaks of him as “pious, judicious, and modest, and no inferior preacher.”
