I found a record in Doonane church records (County Queens/Laois, Ireland) that Michael Haughny & Ellen Whelan had Patrick Haughny on 03/25/1844. James Clarke & Eliza Archer were the god parents (sponsors) & they were from the townland of Clonbrook. Doonane & Mayo Parish records are kept together.

I also found in the same records that Mick Haughney & Ellen Whelan (also of Clonbrook) had Mary Haughney around 06/30/1845.

In my family I have a Margaret Haughney who had a sister Mary (who married Edward Doyle) who we thought was born in 1844 (according to census records). I haven't found Margaret in the same records, though some are illegible.

These Michael & Ellen could be the same as the parents of Margaret. They have the same names. They were from Doonane/Mayo parish in Queens County (which is a possible origin of my Dooling roots).

Does anyone know anything about Ellen Whalen & Michael (Mick) Haughney (Haughny)?
