I am not sure if I can help or not. I know of two Weyer
families who lived in Madison, Indiana in the 1840s. One was
Josiah Weyer and the other was his brother George W. Weyer.
I have a good list of Josiah's children and there is no mention of a daughter Mary born in 1844. George got married in 1846 in Madison, Indiana to Mary Jane Settles and had children although at this time I do not have names. You mentioned that your Mary married a Andrew Ross and had a daughter named Virginia. Could you tell me where this family lived in 1880. I have access to this census and this census states where each persons parents were born. So if Mary had a father born in Pennsylvania and a mother born in North Carolina then it would seem to make Samuel the father and I would not be able to help. If she had a father born in Ohio and a mother born in Indiana, then she may be one of the missing children of George W. Weyer. If Samuel is the father then I would reccommend you check the Ludwig Weyer branch. There were two main branches of Weyers in Pennsylvania in 1809 which is when the Samuel you mention was born according to the 1850 census. One branch was the descendants of Ludwig Weyer and the other was my branch the descendants of Johann Andreas Weyer. Both these families showed up in York, County Pennsylvania around 1750. So far it is believed that they are not related although they only lived a few miles apart. If you can let me know where Mary was living in 1880 then I can look it up for you and see what happens.
