Dan,First Kewanee, Il is just eight miles from the settlement of Osceola which is where the Wevers lived after coming to Il from NY somewhere around 1850. Moses Father William and his brother Morgan L and a sister Miranda are buried in the Osceola Cemetery. Moses and his brother Madison J were on the building committee for the Osceola Baptist Churh and their father was the first signed member. The 1860 census shows Moses was married to a Catharine but the Church lists her as Virginia and she died on 10-13-1861. They had five children at that time-William 16,Wallace 13,Albert 11,Martha 5 and James 1month. Then in the 1870 cnsus Moses has a wife Sophia and 3 children Carrie 6,Willie 3 and Minnie 1. Carrie was married in Stark Co. on 12-22-1886 so the Wevers were still here then. If you need anymore info let me know. Incidentally Morgan L died as a result of the Civil War leaving a wife and 2 children. My husband's great grandmother was Livonia Weaver a daughter of Madison J and Mary Jane she married Hazen H Perkins 6-7-1873.
