Sharon, It looks like you have given me another branch of my family tree. George Wallace would have been 13 years old in 1860.I am still not sure which wife of Moses was my grandmother. The only information I have is that her name was VANDEBERG. I also show the marriage date of George W and Vashti Mckeighan as 3/9/1868 in Kewana, Illinois. I also show Vashiti's parents as James Mckeighan and Jane Walker. No other info on them. Vashti b(1/16/1850) in Farmington IL. d (12/24/30)Hiawatha, Kansas
To the union of George and Vashti there were 8 children born 4 boys and 4 girls. 4 of them died in infancy. The remaining ones were Lillie Mae Wever b(1870 Grinell Iowa) d(1949 in Bartsville OK and buried in Hiawatha Kan. Martha Agnes Wever b(5/3/1877 d12/18/1961) Adelbert Lague Wever (My grandfather) b6/7/1878 d6/5/1949 Ida Ethel Wever b2/7/1886--d1/11/1962. The family also adopted two children one a girl named Gertrude (Lamae ???who was a waif) and the other a small boy who they named Albert Lee Wever. b2/22/1902 d 11/3/1986.
My grandfather Aldelbert married his adopted sister Gertrude. They had 8 children 2 of whom are still alive. My father's name was George Burrell and he was the first born. b2/24/1907 d9/4/1960. The other childrens names were Murrell, Melvin, Everette, Sybil, Faye Vashti (living), Maxine (Living) and Junior or Aldelbert. Junior just died last year and his obit is in the Kacy newspaper.
