Edith,Thank you for your response. Probably when I began researching Johannes Wetzel aka John Wetzel I didn't know his date of birth and that was the reason for the 1771-1777. I recently put on and took off Family Tree Maker 2008 because I liked my old software better. However I am finding I have lost a lot of information in doing it because I had to use an old back-up. This was probably up-dated in my newer back-up but I had lost the information. I have lost some newer information in other lines as well. I just hadn't realized it was so much. How wonderful it is to have my old software though, even if I have to re-do it. I didn't use Conrad because I didn't know if it had proven that he was Conrad Wetzel. Sometimes I write it as Conrad? Wetzel if it hasn't been proven but eventually it seems someone will leave off the ? making it a fact that may not be a fact. And sometimes I use ??? Wetzel and in my notes give what information for his name possibly being Conrad, who thinks so and what basis for their thinking and where I found the information.
