Hi Glenda. I think we have possibly corresponded before about SUIT/SUITE.
My ancestor is James SUIT of St. Mary's Co. MD. (*See other queries on this forum about St. Mary's MD)--I think Nancy is connected to them.
My James SUIT was born in the mid 1700's and died sometime around 1811 approx in St. Mary's. I think he "may" be Ralph's brother. (Also both Ralph & James both had sons named William and Samuel.)
I noted on the Joseph WETHERINGTON will in the post on the "WETHERINGTON" forum who was from St. Mary's MD--that a George DAVIS and Lawson DAVIS are mentioned. The name George DAVIS is very interesting to me. Please note the census info below:
In the 1800 census of St. Mary's Co. MD, there was a man named James KEECH listed, then Ann WETHINTON (as spelled), then a George DAVIS, Sr. then a George DAVIS, Jr. then "my" ancestor James SUIT.
This could mean that Nancy WETHRINGTON/WEATHERINGTON was possibly from St. Mary's Co MD--or at least her parents were. As these names seem to be interrelated somehow.
I do not know who James' parents were for sure and I can find no mention of his wife's name anywhere! He had 2 known sons, Samuel and William B. SUIT and possibly 2 daughters.
I am also wondering if Ralph SUIT is not connected to Stephen RALPH/ROLPH? who lived in MD in the 1700's but I think maybe in Kent Co. I wonder this as Stephen keeps popping up in his line.
I will keep digging as I am trying to find my James SUIT's parents and siblings and wife's name. I have found very little.
