Two articles documenting recent research into the maternal line of Elizabeth Pearce of Northampton, Wake and Franklin Counties, NC, and Shelby County, IN, have been posted on the Nail-Ray Family Association website at http://sites.google.com/site/nailrayassociation/home/0-5-articles

Here you will find connections to many 17th century Virginia ancestors of Elizabeth, including men of prominence such as Arthur Allen (builder of Bacon's Castle), Gen. Joseph Bridger, William Pitt and others. The genealogies of these men of prominence have been pushed back into England by other researchers.

The maternal line ascends as follows: Elizabeth Pearce < Ann Westray < Ann Exum < Patience Williamson < Hester Bridger < Hester Pitt.
