Westphal/Elsner Wisconsin/Prussia

I have Westphal's and Knack's in my family all lived up in Outagamie county Wisconsin. I have a huge part of my family missing also. Maybe we are just looking in the wrong states. THey were some how related to the Schmidt's. Edward Westphal immigrated about 1856 with his parents and family. He was born 1836 in Prussia. He married Augusta Elsner in Wisconsin. Their children were Emma, Martha and Albert all died as small children. They adopted Rudolph Schmidt now Rudolph WEstphal. HE was born 1887. My email is
