The Westmorelands like the Morris, Hester, Southern familes migrated down from tidewater Va into central NC before moving westward to TN, AL and MO. Alexander Westmoreland is the ggrandson of Thomas and Edith Westmoreland and moved to Stokes County NC (present day Forsyth.)
