House/Westmoreland Overlap
I hope I'm not being rude or blowing a big family secret here, but can anyone clarify the bit of confusing data i've run across?
It seems that Thomas House Westmoreland (whom I desend from via his son Lewis Griffith, and also possibly through his son Jerimiah Gilbert, but more on that in a second) was the son of Hannah House and Robert Thomas Westmoreland. Is this the same Hannah House who was daughter of Catheny Westmoreland?Maybe in my confusion I've skipped a generation on both sides, but I'd very much like some clarification on whether someone married their niece or great-niece or second cousin and if not getting it cleared up on some of the trees on Ancestry.com.
On a similar note, as previously mentioned, I'm descendent of Thomas House Westmoreland twice maybe. My great great grandfather Tinnie seems to be the son of Phillip Chambers Westmoreland and Cecilia Westmoreland.Initial research on Familysearch.org and Ancestry.com show that they were both grandchildren of Thomas House Westmoreland.Does anyone have any back story or paperwork on that?
I hope the mention of in-breeding isn't offensive to anyone who reads this.Personally I find it to be one of the most exciting parts of the research yet.
Thanks
