Hi Toni, Cannot trace a Robert around 1850. Did he marry in the UK or the States? What year did he migrate? I don't want to disappoint you but, most of the Westlakes come from the west of the UK centred around Plymouth but there were several families who moved to London as "economic migrants" during the 17th and 18th centuries and these are the ones which are the hardest to find as they moved around quite a bit and the records for London are not as good as they could be. The best I can suggest is that until you can find out more about Robert is to await the publication of the 1851 census for London on CD, which I am going to buy as I have several "lost" Westlakes, and I will contact you with any findings.
Good Luck, Jill
