From what I've been able to find, it SEEMS Joseph, b. @1786, Middleboro(ugh), MA, was son of Jonathan Westgate and Hannah Gammons. That said, chances are fair to good that Jonathan (Westgate/Westcoat/Westcott) is son of Joseph Westcoat and Judy Booth. A chance, but lesser still, that Joseph was son of Thomas Westcoat and Hannah Reynolds.

One connection I find interesting... Hannah Reynolds is daughter of Elexis/Alexis/Electious Reynolds, so is sister of Mary Reynolds. This connection is normal, I guess, given the family lines in the area. Linearly, the line of Mary Reynolds, who married a Job Randall, and they are great-grandparents to Lizzie M. Randall, wife of Henry Willis Westgate. Henry being a great-grandson of Joseph Westgate and Sarah Morton.

To date, I only include the line back to Jonathan, as none have yet provided sufficient proof that Jonathan was the son of Joseph Westcoat and Judy Booth.
