In my data base there is a
Joseph B. Westcott, Sr. b. August 18, 1763, Old Middleboro, MA d. June 10, 1857, Peru, Clinton Co., NY. m. Abt. 1799 Olive Knight b. 1782 d. July 18, 1858, (Burial Info: Peasleeville Cemetery, New York.)

Notes for Joseph B. Westcott Sr.
On his gravestone is engraved: "Albany Co. Militia, Col. Van Rensselaer." Comment from Mr. Whitman: "It is deeply regretted that a record of his ancestry and that of his wife, has not been found. At the time of his birth, several Westcott Families lived in Middleboro. According to his pension papers, issued at Albany, NY, September 1, 1834, when he was drawing $80.00 per month and living in Peru, NY, he enlisted in the cause of the Revolution from Greenwich, Mass., in April 1781, in Capt. Webb's Co., Col. Henry Jackson's regiment and marched to Springfield, Mass., and Hartford, Conn., and thence to West Point. He served until the close of the war and after. Following this, he returned to Greenwich, RI where he remained until 1785. He was then for a year in Lenox, Mass. (1786), in Bennington, Vermont, for two years (1787-1788), in Rutland, Vermont for one year (1789), in Monkton, Vermont for three years (1790-1792), in Grand Isle, Vermont for six years (1793-1780), and thence to Peru, NY where he finally settled on a Patent in 1800 and where he died in 1857, aged 94 years. Hannah Moore, his daughter and Mariah Westcott, his son Daniel's wife, witnessed his mark to his pension papers. According to the census of 1830 and 1850, Joseph and Olive had in their home in Peru, one Polly Lydia Westcott, b-1783. In the census of 1840, there was counted in his family, himself and wife, three males between 15-30 years old, two females between 10-30 years old and one female under 5 years old." (Stukely Westcott, Vol. 2, Pg. 389, 1939)
