I haven't been able to connect your Westervelt to mine, however, I might be able to give you ideas on where to look.

My 4th gr-grandfather Garret Westervelt married Lucinda Pollard, they were both born in Canada and ended up in Ionia Co.,MI. Their children;James b.1829, Joshua b.1832, William b.1833, Mary b.1838, Olivia b. 1840 & Joseph b.1849

Joshua married Mary (?) and they had two children; Cynthia b. 1864 in MI, and George.

Cynthia Westervelt married Edwin Godfrey, they resided in Kent Co MI and are buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Lowell MI
