Sorry, I have no real facts as to why this family moved so many times from mid-eighteenth to mid-nineteenth centuries. I have made some assumptions from reading history of this period, but speculation is all it is.
I am decended from Charles/Eleanor, John/Lydia, Clifford D./Frances, Moses F./Delana Jane, Granville J./Nancy Jane, and my parents Guy/Flara. My strain of the family moved from Kentucky/Tennessee to southwest Arkansas around 1830-1835. My grandfather and his wife moved to north Texas between 1876-1878 and then to central Texas betweem 1885-1887. Gradually all the family scattered, but a large remnant is still living in different parts of Texas, as I am. I believe there are still a lot of Westermans in Arkansas, but none of my immediate relations.
I would be interested to know what you have on Charles Westerman and Eleanor Clifford prior to 1750. My first information on them is in Rowan Co., NC. in about 1750. I thought they may have been up north before coming to NC, but have nothing about them for that period. Looks as if you have found another distant cousin.
