I don't think that the Ann/Nancy difference means these are necessarily different people. Nancy is a common nickname for Ann (notice, for example, when you search at the LDS site on the name Ann, it will also give you Nancy)...

The Pearce family history has Nathan Pearce (and of course Pearce/Pierce are variations) marrying "Nancy Weston". There is a LDS record of Nathan Pearce and "Nancy Wester" with their first recorded child born in 1758 The families lived in Bute, Franklin, and Wake counties. I'm attempting to get a copy of the Nathan Pearce history to obtain more details...
