James Madison King married Mary Westbrook (22 Apr 1866 in Cherokee County, Georgia, marriage book D). The 1900 census indicates that she married twice. I believe that Westbrook was her married name of her first marriage. In the 1870 Johnson County, Arkansas, census, 2 of the King boys (James and Joseph) birth dates were before her marriage. In the 1880 Yell County, Arkansas, census, one page over from James and Mary's record, is the record of James B Westbrook with his wife and children. Living with him is his brother Joseph Westbrook.
Some Ancestry family trees show Thompson F Westbrook and his wife Mary with children James and Joseph. The 1860 Cherokee County, Georgia, census shows Thompson F Westbrook, wife Mary, and son James B. I believe that this is Mary Westbrook, who married James Madison King.
In the 1900 census, Mary also stated that she had 6 children, 4 living. We have no death dates for Joseph or for Eva L. The other 4 are still living after 1900.
Now we need to find the marriage record for Thompson F Westbrook and Mary--with her maiden name. Also the death date of Thompson F Westbrook--sometime between 1861 and 1866, unless they were divorced.
