I am interested in parentage/ancestry of Jesse Westbrook counted 1810 in Jones Co and later moved to New Hanover County. His descendents claimed that the family originally came to NC from Maine as did many other New Englanders about 1730-1740. That would explain why I can not connect him to your other Westbrooks who came from Virginia. Based on published genealogies in New Bern Library for the VA/NC Westbrooks, I am guessing that Jesse's father may have been 1800 Census Benjamin of Jones County, who does not seem to connect to VA originated Westbrooks. Perhaps your research can shed some light on our Jesse.
