After Jacob Floyd Sparks died, Louella Colston Sparks married Walter (Walt) Brown from Wilkesboro, NC. After Walter Brown died Louella married Alexander D. West. Alexander D. West and Louella moved to the "Sledge Plantation" in Providence, NC and farmed. Joel Adolphus West and Bessie Irene Sparks West moved in to help with the farm. Joel is the son of Alexander D. West and Matilda Layell. Bessie Irene Sparks West is the daughter of Jacob Floyd Sparks and Louella Colston.
