I do believe I am looking for the same Mary Rutherford.
What I have on my line is that I come to William West and Mary Rutherford via Ruth West and Beverly Smith. I have that Ruth and Beverly had a daughter Eliza Smith who married John Harmon also of Greene County, TN. I am a direct descendant from Eliza Smith and John Harmon.
I was looking at the WEST DNA project. They seem to hypothesize that Family group 5 (which William West was a part of) oldest relative is Thomas West. Which I think would make him Williams father. I'm just a newbie to genealogy so I don't know how much credence to give their assertions.
