Not working on this line myself, but here's info that might be helpful. According to www.JohnMarshallWest.com Smith Monroe West was the offspring of John Newton West and Mary West (same surnames). This website provides a lot of details on their ancestry. Can't vouch for its accuracy, but could be a good place to start your research.
