The DNA results have arrived for the descendant of HEZEKIAH WEST, son of JOHN WEST of MARYLAND who fought and died in the Rev. War.
You can view the DNA results at the Johnson Co. Illinois DNA Project at Family Tree DNA - DNA kit # 15785 and at Ysearch.org where he is # C4MCY.
The man tested belongs to haplogroup R1b1. He is not a match to any other WEST men that have taken the DNA test and there is no indication that a surname switch has taken place along the family line to the testee. I have not ordered the Deep Clade Haplogroup test to determine his specific subgroup in Hap. R1b.
If anyone else is a direct male descendant of HEZEKIAH WEST of Johnson Co. Illinois, it would be helpful if you would take the DNA test.
