It's very possible these 3 Jesse's are the same.I have all three on my "Brick Wall" list.I've never been able to tie them together.
(1) Mary Wessinger (daughter of Jesse Wessinger) married James McGee April 16, 1846.The only additional information I've found on this family is the 1850 Columbia, SC census showing James & Mary, both age 28, son James, age 2, and Rebecca Wessinger, age 19.My guess is that Mary and Rebecca are sisters.
(2) Penelope Johnston Coogler married Jesse Wessinger January 29, 1843.Penelope was born March 28, 1797, died August 30, 1845.Penelope was the widow of Jacob Coogler.Penelope wrote a will in June of 1845 dividing the estate ofJacob Coogler to their children and to Jesse Wessinger the one third part of the rest of her estate.
(3)WESSINGER, Jesse - October 06, 1847, Jesse Wessinger of Camden married Elizabeth Ann Hamner, daughter of George B. Hamner, Jr.We've discussed this family at length through e-mails.
