Hi,

I'm also interested in those earliest Wessels, because they were present at baptisms of Vreelands. I'm wondering whether Fitje Hertmans Wessels, wife of Michiel Janszen Vreeland, was a sibling to Annetje, Jennetie, and Hendrickje, as suggested by the following baptismal records from RDC New Amsterdam:

1656, 1 Oct; Michiel Janszen, Fytie Wessels; Johannes; Nicolaes Backer, Samuel Etsal, Anna Wessels, Anna Elisabeth Maskop
{Anna may be Annetje, wife of Nicholaes B.; Samuel Etsal is husband of Jennetie Wessels; and Anna Maskop is wife of Warnar Wessels}

1658, 25 Jun; Michiel Janszen, Fytie Hermans; Cornelis; Samuel Edzal, Jennetie Wessels

1660, 3 Jun; Michiel Janszen; Cornelis; Warnar Wesselszen, Hendrickje Wessels
{Hendrickje is wife of Gulian Ver Planck}

There were also Wessels present at the baptisms of grandchildren of MJV x FHW:
1676, 25 Mar; Elias Michielszen, Grietie Jacobs; Rachel; Warnard Wessels, Ariaentie Michiels {Elias was s/o MJV x FHW}

1680, 28 Feb; Enoch Michielszen, Dirckje Meyers; Fytie; Hendrick Wesselszen ten Broeck, Margareta de Riemer {Enoch was also s/o MJV x FHW}

If anyone knows further details of these Wessels, I'd love to learn more! (and contact me if you need any more Vreeland information!)
