Sorry to wait so long to reply. Forgot I had made the post. Found this last week when looking at census records.
1900 City of Charleston Census, 155A, Enumeration District 108, sheet #13, Ward 11.

Living at 38 Morris St.,
Wetzel, Fred. H. head 2/1852 48 carpenter
Augusta H. wife 1/1860 40
Bertha dau 3/1884 16
Ferdinand son 11/1885 14
Carl son 11/1889 10
Willie son 6/1893 6
Adolph son 10/1895 4
Franz son 3/1898 2
Louis son 9/1879 20 Carpenter

Augusta did not die until 1908 so it’s possible that there may have been children after Adolph in 1898. Maybe Dewey?

There was no mention of “Dewey”and it lists a “Willie” born in 6/93. The death certificate on Willie says he died 6-24-92 so do you suppose they named another son “Willie”?

Johanna died Jan 24, 1884 and Bertha was born March of 1884 so there is no doubt that Augusta was her mother.

Bertha was my grandmother, married John Solomon Grooms in Charleston c1901. It is not clear who Bertha's father was. Apparently not F H Wessel.
