I am searching for information on my Wesemann family who came from Hannover to Illinois about 1845/1850. Ludwig Heinrich "Louis" born 1811 Hannover, died 1877 in Proviso, Illinois. He was married in Maine in 1847 to Catherine Dunker - came to Illinois 1849/1850. A brother Wilhelm born 1817 in Hannover, died in 1891 in Proviso, Illinois. He lived in DuPage, Kankakee, and Cook counties, Illinois and for a short time in Norton, Kansas. He was married in Germany to Sophia Busche. She was born in Hannover in 1815, died in Kankakee County in 1881. The sister of Louis and Wilhelm was my gg grandmother, Wilhelmine Wesemann, born in Hannover in 1820, died in LaGrange Park, Illinois in 1908. She came to the U.S. in 1845 and married Heinrich Dieke. There may have been other brothers and sisters. Both Louis and Wilhelm had large families. I understand that some went to Minnesota. There is a lot of information out there on Weseman/Wesemann families but I have not been able to make any connection with mine. Would be most greatful for any information. I will be happy to share what information I have. Don Knoepfel
