Am hunting Hiram Wescott born 1794/1799, depending on source, in CT. He is in 1830 census in Barkhamsted, Litchfield co CT census. He buried children, Mary A. 1829 & Hiram 1831 in Barkhamsted Cemetery. He bought property in Chardon, Geauga co OH 1832. Is in 1840 OH census as Hiram West. In 1850, 60 & 70 censuses in Chardon co. He had children who mar in Chardon:
Judah W. b 1822 mar 1850 May L Chandler;
Flora Lavina b 1826 mar 1840 William Chandler 1849;
Wealthy M. b 1832/33 m 1850 1) Alfred W. Griswold, 2) Fayette Judd West;
Patience (Pheland or Philena) b 1835/36 mar 1854 Dwight Griswold;
Emily (Emma Adelaide) b 1839/40 mar Theron Warner West;
Henriette M(atilda) b 1843/44 mar 1860 Herman J. Webb.
The Chandler Genealogy says that his first wife was Flora or Nora West. That would be reasonable since a Judah West lived in Winsted, Litchfield co, CT and the son was b probably named for him. Some of these children moved to DeKalb co, IL.
Hiram mar 1849 2)Hannah Hosford and had my grandmother, Florence L. Wescott b 1853.
