I've got Wescotts/Westcotts in my ancestry.
Mine moved from Butler, Wayne County NY to rural West Bend, Washington Co. WI about the mid 1840's.From their they spread across "The West" and western Canada. Most of the boys enlisted in the American Civil War, most in Co. D, 12th Wisconsin Volunteers. My direct ancestor moved to between Stratford and Colby in Marathon Co. WI, which is my heritage.
At about the same time, there was a second Wescott family migrated to the same area of Washington Co. WI from possibly Tioga County NY.Also many Civil War veterans from that group.I have not been able to tie this group to mine, or the descendants of Stuckely Westcott, and do not have a burning interest at this time in researching it.I've got too many problems with other lines in my heritage.
I have seen indications of at least one more Wescott/Westcott family in Wisconsin, but have absolutely no research on it, and therefore no indication if it ties into the descendants of Stuckely Westcott.
