Gerhart Wesche/Dideka

I believe that Gerhart Dideka changed his name to Wesche in the late 1790s early 1800s. I believe him to be the father of Johann Henry william Wesche who came to New York in 1851 from Hanover Germany.
Could have changed his name because of the feudal system that existed at the time in Germany. Johann was a farmer, according to the ship's log.
