Hi Jonathan and other Wert cousins -- Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Jonathan,

Asher, b. 1819, was the brother of Henry Wert, who was b 1806 New Jersey as they are both sons of Elnathan Wert.

Here's the line up. Of them all, Asher was the only one to stay behind in Hamilton Co., Ohio when they went to Fountain Co Indiana.

Henry Wert, b 21 Aug 1806
Irene Wert, b. 14 Feb 1809 married Michael Barnes
Richard Derrick Wert, b. 26 Aug 1814
David Wert, b. 15 May 1815
Asher Wert, b. 02 Apr 1819
Eliza Wert, b. 25 Jan 1826, married James W. Wilkinson

Elnathan Wert had brothers and sister...something from along these lines (below) all born about 1740-1780 in New Jersey. I got the names from a will, and the dates I extrapolated based on the little I know. I am in the process of trying to get my paws on the actual document, and the information I have might not be as written in the original.

She has Christopher Wert, died January 3, 1809 in Hunterdon Co, NJ, and it look slike he could be the father or grandfather of the following children, all born between about 1740-1780

WERT NEW JERSEY
Jacob,

Daniel,

Henry,

Peter,

George,

Elnathan (went to Greene Co., Ohio, then Hamilton Co., Ohio where he died bet 1840-1850. He was the father of the above list of children),

Mary,

Priscilla "Prissily" (married John Higgins and stayed in Hunterdon Co NJ, and

Elizabeth.

There was a note that these children are named in Henry's will, dated 6-4-1804, and proved January 11, 1809. HOWEVER, in the beginning it says it was Christopher who died in 1809. Not sure what it all means...but if anybody can connect, even maybe connect, just post here!!

Jonathan, If you noticed the name Derrick way up there, are we 100% DNA positive that Catherine Derrick who married a Wert in PA is not in this line somewhere?

My husband's Wert line is the same as Asher's....you want me to hit him up for some spit? :))
