Hi Allison,
The name John W. seems to be important in both families.I'd be interested in knowing about anymore MD info you might have.I know that my Warner/Werner family had many of the children's baptismal records and John and Mary's marriage recorded in the Woodsboro Evangelical Lutheran Church in Woodsboro, Frederick County, MD.
I also find it interesting that both families settled in the same county (Seneca) once into Ohio. The other point of interest is that your Census listed "Blacksmith" as an occupation.I know that Blacksmithing is named as a family trade in one of the letters exchanged during the Civil War between the Matriarch, Mary Elizabeth, and her daughter-in-law.Although I'm not sure if she's referring to the Freet/Freed side of the family (Samuel Freet), or the Warner side of the family.
I think it's time that I haul all my Warner notes back out and peruse for more clues!!As soon as tax season is over!!
Thanks, Michelle
