Hi Doug,
Sorry it has taken so long to respond to your message.
My grandmother was Anna M. Werneke, born in Cleveland on July 24, 1877 and died in April of 1943. She is also buried in Woodland Cemetery. Her father, Dietrich Werneke, was born in 1851 in Germany and came to America in 1874. He lived in Dover Village, now Westlake. I don't think there is any connection between the families. Was Anna's madien name Werneke? Do you know where she was born?
I was raised in Westlake. Also lived in Rocky River and Avon Lake. Left A.L. in 1970 and moved to California.
