My grandmother was Ella Ruth -- born probably between 1860 and 1870, as my mother was born to her and her husband, John C. Bartholomew in 1892. I recall my mother mentioning the name Werkheiser as a family name but do not know the connection. She talked of someone in the Werkheiser family compiling a genealogy, which I would like to get a copy of, as I have the Renninger family genealogy from my father's family. If it is not possible to obtain a copy I would at least like to see one -- maybe my library could get it on an inter-library loan. John Bartholomew was born in Wilkes-Barre so it is likely she was from the same area. Around 1890 they moved to Lansdale, where he had several photography studios. They had two sons in addition to my mother, both older: Gurney and Nevin.
