I found this passage in the book "Oxen to Oil - Diamond Memories, The History of the R.M of Oakdale and the Village of Coleville", published 1982. It appears to be written by your wife's grandmother's sister.
Joe and Amelia Miller - by Amelia Miller
"My parents were Mr. and Mrs. Antony Winniger of North Dakota, USA where I was born August 2, 1904. On August 17, 1906 when I was two years of age, my father passed away. My mother and sister moved from the United States to Maple Creek, Sask., in the year of 1912. There my mother met and later married a farmer by the name of Ben Steinkey. That same year we all moved to Fox Valley, Sask. They had four girls and two boys. I was needed to help on the farm with the farming and the housework. In the fall of 1913 I was helping a lady prepare meals for the threshing crew and while there, I met Joe Miller who was one of the men with the threshing crew."
The rest of the story tells of Joe and Amelia and their children. No further mention is made of Amelia's parents or sister.
Let me know if you need further info. My mother's sister married one of Joe and Amelia's sons.
Hope this helps.
