Hi. While researching my Pittenger line I found that my grandfather, Isaac "Wimple" Pittenger whose parents were Joshua Pittenger and Elizabth Selover, came from the Netherlands. I believe the Pittengers were Scottish but fled to the Netherlands and intermarried among the Dutch. Originally they are in NJ but found Isaac's baptism records in Schnectady Dutch Church. I don't have the Selover genealogy but I knew when i saw his middle name it had to be a family name passed on. Other Dutch names that married the Pittengers Louw, and Hendrickse. Do you know of any connection Selover's would have had to Wemple's? I don't know Elizabeth's mother's maiden name, her father was Isaac Selover/Slover. Also I sent for Probate papers in NY and I noticed the name Vroman among the families listed. I'm betting there is a connection...Thanks for anything you can tell me.
