The Welty family is difficult to follow; I trace my family through David, son of Abraham. David made the move to Highland Co Ohio from KY and died in Salem, Highland County, Ohio in 1839 according to my records. David's son Jacob married Mary Chaplin of William, Jr. and Hannah; Jacob died in 1880 in Schuyler County, Illinois; Jacob's son William Welty b 1839 Highland, Ohio, married in Schuyler Co IL with Henrietta Hendrix, daughter of William F. Hendrix who was born in NC; their daughter Elizabeth Catherine 'Lizzie' Welty married into my Mason family in Schuyler County, IL in 1898.
