When the Alemannians from the north came to Switzerland around the year 700, the Celts lived here. These spoke a mixture of Celtic and Roman at that time. So there still are some rests of their vocabulary in our language. Whords which we don't understand today, we like to assign to this ancient language. The word Badertscher seems to have to do something with the word bath (=Bad). I don't know what the second part "ertscher" means. Neither I know, whether also the first part "Bad" has to do something with bath originally.
