Hi Dennis;
Thanks for replying.I am a little confused as there are so many John Welty's. Please help me to get this straight. On a previous posting, you state that your ancestor is the John Welty who married Margaret Ilgenfritz Correct?I show this John Welty to be born 1744 In York Co., PA and died 1856 in Green Tn. Correct?
Isn't this the father of Jeremiah Hensley?
(My father's line)
Generation #2: Jeremiah Hensley who married Elizabeth Welty
Generation #3: Jeremiah and Elizabeth's son:Charlie B.Hensley who married Mary Pulse.
Generation #4: Charlie and Mary's daughter: Elizabeth Jane Hensley who married George Washington Fiveash.
That is an interesting concept on my mother's line of Beery's (Bieri), Welty's. Gochnauer's and Huntzicker's.I have a little info on the Gochnaur's.
Jacob Gochnauer b. abt. 1696 in Friedrichstadt, Germany married 2nd wife ANNA HUNSAKER. Could her surname have been Huntzicker or Huntsticker?
Magdelena Gochnauer b. abt. 1722 of York PA., married Abraham Welty. John Gochnauer b. 1726 married Barbara Beery.
Elizabeth Gochnauer b. 1730 married Abraham Beery.Eve Gochnauer married John (Johannes) Welty.
The Magdelena Gochnauer mentioned above and married to Abraham Welty is the one with the son John Welty b. 1744 in York PA. Died in 1856 in Cross Creek Jefferson Ohio and the one that I must have mistaken for the same John who married Ilgenfritz.
It appears that Eve Gochnauer and Magdelena are sisters, thier father being Hans Gochnauer. Please reply to the questions in the first part regarding the line of Welty's on my father's side.
