No, the John Welty who married Margaret Ilgenfritz was not the son of John Welty, who died in Washington Co.,
MD, in 1802. This latter John did have a son John, but, if I recall, seems to be one of the Johns who stayed
in Washington Co. The John who died in 1802 was a Mennonite or Dunker, a pacifist, and the John who married
in 1783 was Reformed, and fought in the Revolution. The John who died in 1802 was a son of Christian Welty,
of Lancaster Co., PA, born in the 1740s.
