In Reply to: Eudora Welty. Anyone?.... by David A. Webb of 737

Eudora Welty's mother was a descendant of Isham Andrews, Revolutionary War soldier from Virginia, who was a cousin of my Andrews ancestor.

Edward Raboteau Andrews b. 1862 VA. (Chesterfield Co.?)
m. Eudora Carden.
Their daughter:

Chestina Andrews 1883-1966 Christian Webb Welty and lived in Jackson, Miss. in the house Eudora lived all her life. (His mother could have been a Webb.)

They had 3 children:
1. Eudora Welty, the author
2. Edward Welty
3. Walter Webb Welty.

Walter Webb Welty married Mittie Elizabeth Creekmore, a great niece of John F. Wier (Weir) and Ann Eliza Wier/Weir Creekmore,
great-uncle and great-aunt of my own grandmother, Lucille Weir Thomas also. She was older than Eudora Welty and told about meeting her once at a gathering before she became well known as a writer (and Miss Welty took an immense dislike to her).
