John, thanks for post.I see you have posted a Barnaby Wells born 1637 England and died in VA in 1686.I have tried to make a connection to him but no success. The name Barnaby (Barney) is commom among my Wells lineage. My earliest known ancestor is Barnaby Wells born ca 1748 and d. 1822. Probably born in NC because he married Margaret Pool in Rowan County, NC 29 Nov 1769.They migrated to Grayson County, VA.Children were:

5.Gean Wells b. 9 Nov 1776.
6.Barney B. Wells b. 16 Jan 1779, wife Anna, maiden
name not known.I descend thru his son, George. He
married Mary Polly Daniels and was murdered during
the Civil War (1864).They moved from Grayson County
to Russell County (now Wise County, VA) about 1849.
7.Margaret Wells b. 17 Nov 1782 m. Abel Carrico.
8.Jesse Wells b.27 Mar 1785 m. Martha Achsah Lundy.
9.Rachel Wells b. 27 June 1788.
