Thomas Wellman submitted a petition for land August 1, 1837 in Upper Canada.
Served in the 37th Regiment of Foot, for 7 years. After being discharged in 1818, he found employment at the farm of Squire Beech in Kingston, working there for 5 years.Mr. Beech sold Thomas a piece of land in N-19 in the 6th Concession in Rawdon Township, County of Hastings, consisting of 100 acres.Thomas Wellman, about 45 years old, has resided upward of 13 years there, and has raised 6 sons, all of whom still remain at home, the eldest being 17 years of age. Mr. Wellman desires 100 acres of land in Seymour Twp, Newcastle District.Approved 17 January 1838
