The untimely death of Mrs. John Kroeger occurred at her home near this city Monday night after an illness of nearly a week with pneumonia. This good woman was 36 years of age and was born Dec. 3d, 1886, in Marion county and has lived near Palmyra all of her life. Her many friends were shocked at the news of her death but her many golden deeds through life's journey will make her name immortal to those who knew her best. Besides her husband, she is survived by six children, three boys, Frederick, Herbert and Chas., three daughters, Mary, Florence and one infant daughter, Mildred. Her father, Frederick Wellman, of Quincy, also survives her as do three brothers, Lawrence Wellman, of this city, Jim and Charley Wellman, of the state of Arkansas, and five sisters, four of Quincy, and one of St. Joseph, Mich. Mrs. Kroeger has been a member of St. Joseph Catholic church all of her life and was also a member of the ladies Altar Society. Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph church Thursday morning at 9:30 o'clock
NOTE* Per son Herbert J. Kroeger 1992 obit stated he had an infant brother who preceded him. So, I am listing seven children for Clara Wellman Kroeger.
