Hi Phoebe,
Thankx for responding. Charles Wellman and Isabella Herr were married Oct 8/1850, in Victoria District. In 1850 Hastings County was in the Victoria District. The marriage is listed in "The Marriage Registers of Upper Canada/Canada West - Volume 15: Victoria District 1839-1858". I found this information in the Trenton Ontario Library.

In the 1861 Rawdon Census Charles and Isabella are listed with children William 10, James 8, Margaret 6, Hannah 3, George 2.

I found wedding of Charles and Sarah in 1873, I assume that Isabella died between 1861 and 1873. I haven't seen the 1871 census for Kent County, will be interesting to see if Isabella is still living then.

The only Herr family that I have found in the Hastings area is my family, the original couple were John Herr and Margaret Mary Collins, both born in Ireland. They arrived in the Peterborough area in 1831, first in Douro and by 1841 in Asphodel. Both my ggrandparents ahd grandparents were married in Hastings.

Mike
